Neutralization of SARS-CoV-2 lineage B.1.1.7 by human sera from people who received Pfizer vaccine

Given concerns that the #B117 #coronavirus variant that first emerged in the UK may evade current vaccines, a study tested the variant against sera from people who were vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. The immune sera had slightly reduced but overall largely preserved neutralizing titers against the new lineage.

The results indicate that the B.1.1.7 lineage will not escape Pfizer vaccine-mediated protection.
