Membrane Remodeling in Antiviral Immunity and Viral Replication: A Unifying Framework for the Virus-Host Conflict

3m
1 min read

Viruses rely on host membranes for entry, replication, assembly, and egress, while innate immune signaling is also organized on membrane platforms. This review presents a membrane-centered view of virus-host interactions, highlighting how interferon-induced changes in membrane composition and organization disrupt infection and how viruses counteract these defenses through extensive membrane remodeling.

This review examines how interferon-driven membrane remodeling restricts viral replication and how viruses reprogram lipid metabolism and intracellular membranes to sustain infection and evade defense.
