Continuous sampling of Aedes albopictus throughout a chikungunya outbreak showed that mosquito- and human-derived viral genomes were nearly identical, confirming ongoing local transmission. Virome composition was influenced more by sampling time than by chikungunya infection status. Individual mosquitoes displayed substantial variation, while pooled samples accurately captured the core virome.
